چکیده
Abstract Acritarch biostratigraphic and δ 13 C chemostratigraphic data from the Krol A Formation in Solan area (Lesser Himalaya, northern India) are integrated to aid inter-basinal correlation of early–middle Ediacaran strata. We identified a prominent negative excursion (likely equivalent EN2 lower Doushantuo Yangtze Gorges South China), over dozen species acanthomorphs (including two new species— Cavaspina tiwariae Xiao n. sp., Dictyotidium grazhdankinii sp.), numerous other microfossils an interval Formation. Most microfossil taxa underlying Infra-Krol formations also present support with earliest biozone: Appendisphaera grandis - Weissiella grandistella Tianzhushania spinosa Assemblage Zone. indicate second or (more likely, when considered) third biozone (i.e., Tanarium tuberosum Schizofusa zangwenlongii conoideum basiconica Zone). The association fills critical gap China where chert nodules, thus acanthomorphs, rare interval. Like many assemblages, distributed low paleolatitudes, they may represent distinct paleobiogeographic province east Gondwana. Indian affirm stratigraphic significance C, clarify key issues bio- correlation, strengthen basis for study eukaryote evolution paleobiogeography. متن کاملSequence Stratigraphy of the Neoproterozoic Infra Krol Formation and Krol Group, Lesser Himalaya, India
A sequence stratigraphic study of terrigenous and carbonate rocks of the Infra Krol Formation and Krol Group in the Lesser Himalaya fold and thrust belt of northern India was undertaken as part of a broader investigation of the significance of carbon isotope data in Neoproterozoic successions. Eight regional stratigraphic discontinuities were traced over a distance of nearly 300 km, and interpr...

The Infra Krol Formation and overlying Krol Group constitute a thick (< 2 km), carbonate-rich succession of terminal Proterozoic age that crops out in a series of doubly plunging synclines in the Lesser Himalaya of northern India. The rocks include 18 carbonate and siliciclastic facies, which are grouped into eight facies associations: (1) deep subtidal; (2) shallow subtidal; (3) sand shoal; (4...

15 صفحه اولThe Quaternary glacial history of the Lahul Himalaya, northern India
This paper presents the first glacial chronology for the Lahul Himalaya, Northern India. The oldest glaciation, the Chandra Glacial Stage, is represented by glacially eroded benches at altitudes greater than 4300 m above sea-level. This glaciation was probably of a broad valley type. The second glaciation, the Batal Glacial Stage, is represented by highly weathered and dissected lateral moraine...
